After Action Reports by PatCon Guests

LT sporting the Max Velocity Versa Chest Rig and having a great time!
The 2015 Idaho PatCon was a huge success thanks to the quality of the people who joined us on the mountain here in St. Maries.

Bring extraordinary people together, success is guaranteed.

For me, the PatCon was filled with a vast spectrum of memorable moments:
- fun-filled laugther
- feasting with friends
- heartwarming connections
- great conversations
- excellent learning opportunities, and
- thrilling moments.

Perhaps the most "thrilling" moment is when Sergeant Major Mike (U.S. Army Retired) ordered my presence on the shooting range, suggested ;-) that I assume the prone position, and allowed me to shoot a couple rounds from his "oh-so-impressive" Savage Arms 10 BA rifle. (Mike, forgive me if I got the model wrong. Feel free to correct me.)  Thank you, Sir!

  1. Hello hello!
I just received your Email requesting a little feedback from those who made it to PatCon this year.
Actually, I have been quiet about it because I am waiting on Mr. K's evaluation. As for myself, I was thrilled to be able to attend and even more thrilled to finally get to meet you in person!
For anyone reading this, I can honestly say that Miss Holly is an absolute sweetheart!!

I can not thank you and everyone involved enough for you efforts and outstanding hospitality!

I met some of the most genuinely nice people you could ever want to meet and count as a friend.
Seriously, true Americans to the core.
I learned a great deal from the classes and only wish there could have been more time to cram more in.

This has to be counted as some of the best time and energy I have spent in a long time and is an experience I will treasure the rest of my life.

I have always been a bit reticent about calling myself a true III%er until now.

Now I can hold my head up proud and can say in all honesty that I am a III%er and no one can say different.

Sam (Chris) and Holy are wonderfully nice people and went way out of their way to make this an event to look forward to again and again and I am already penciling in the time to do it next year, my only hope is that we can get even more folks to join us.

Thank you again Miss Holly and my thanks to everyone involved.

    In Liberty,

    Phil Paul.

  2. Loved it! Met a lot of good people.

Loved the feast! Please charge me next time.

Loved all the classes and lectures. Please, more of that next time. Also, it'd be nice to drill a bit to get some hands-on experience, especially when it comes to tactics.

Loved the raffle. More of that next time, please!

  3. I haven't had that much fun in a long time. The classes were very informative, and it was great to meet other like-minded people. Thanks to all who worked hard to put it on. Can't wait 'till next year!

  4. I really enjoyed seeing friends from the first PatCon and being able to meet a LOT of new people was really great.
I am honored to have been able to spend some time with some exceptionally intelligent and principled people.
Thank you for attending and I hope to see all of you at the next PatCon!

  5. You could not hope to gather a better group of folks than those who made the trip up the mountain this past weekend. The combination of zeal for rightful liberty and genuine comeraderie made for a truly rare atmosphere of open and engaged conversation. "Priceless" hardly begins to describe it.

The workshops were outstanding - many thanks to Sparks, Matt, and everyone who gave of their time and skills to make it memorable in so many ways. And many thanks to Miss Violet for the outstanding catering.

experiences like these don't happen online, he happen when real people get together in pursuit of a common goal - when they sweat a bit together, break bread as an extended family, and openly speak their hearts and minds. That is what we did, and we each came away better for it - I know I did. And I am hungry for more...

  6. Thanks to all who put on this great gathering. Special thanks to Holly for such good communications on the lead up to the actual event. For those of us who travelled a long way, the intel was outstanding!

My son and I travled up from the southern reaches of the Redoubt. We did not know a single person there, but on arrival, we were warmly greeted, assisted in getting settled in, and became "one of the group". Both of us really enjoyed that, and felt included from the moment we stepped on site! So those of you who are shy, please go to the next PatCon, and you will be treated like family.

As noted the classes were great. To the point for the people in attendance, and questions were welcomed by the speakers. Everyone learned valuable things that will be needed in the near future. Maybe very near future.

What I enjoyed the most were the side conversations that we found ourselves welcomed into. It is fascinating to hear how similarly people from a wide ranging background and locations end up thinking alike. It was like being around people I'd known for a long time.

And finally a monster thankyou to everyone at PatCon, as you treated my son so well. He learned, he was motivated, and he was inspired. Words can not express how important that was to me! Thank you so much for that!

Finally, for those of you who are reading these comments, plan on attending next year, or other similar events. They will motivate you. They will inspire you. They will teach you things you WILL NEED TO KNOW...

To everyone who put in so much personal time to make PatCon happen, your efforts are appreciated more than words can say.

    A Southern Redoubter and Son

  7. I wish to thank everyone that helped organize and contribute to PatCon 2015, especially Holly. She very sweetly answered all my many questions I had while making plans to attend, made me feel welcome, and did an amazing job on all the organizing! It was an awesome event and I enjoyed meeting fellow preppers and gaining some great new friends, learning important things at the workshops and classes, and had lots of fun at the range. I went there as a single woman, by myself, not knowing anybody, and was warmly greeted and felt totally comfortable around such a great group of people. The location and view was absolutely stunning and I got to test a bunch of my off grid equipment. I wish we could do this once a month! I can’t wait until next year. I highly recommend attending!

  8. Special thanks to Holly, Miss Violet and Fuzzy, and all who went to the effort to put this thing together. I'm certain it was much harder than they made it look.

I got there, set up my tent, and within minutes was having some of the most intelligent conversations with like minded people that I have had in a long time. I felt like I fit in from the start. In fact I didn't realize how starved I was for intelligent conversation with people who don't have their heads in the sand (or elsewhere), As long as we can get together and meet like this there is still hope for the future of this country.

The classes were excellent and informative, and the side conversations and discussions were priceless, and well worth the 4000 mile round trip drive. Special thanks to Sargent Major Mike, LT, Sparks, Casey and others for insites, and ideas that I hadn't considered.

If you weren't there you missed getting to know some really great people, some great discussions, and an all around great time. better start planning to be there next year.

  9. Sorry, Holly, that it has taken me this long to get back to this site and put in my AAR. It's canning season, and I've been madly filling up my jars for the coming year.

My husband and I totally enjoyed ourselves! Until the SHTF (at which time we hope to have a cabin up there ourselves), we will continue to come to each PatCon from now on. The classes, as everyone has been saying, were great. But mostly it was meeting the other attendees and getting an chance to visit with them! As someone else said, that was indeed priceless. And the view was absolutely beautiful from the mountain top!

We look forward to seeing you guys around, and we really are working hard at becoming fellow neighbors by next year.

  10. We really enjoyed meeting you Holly, and the rest of the group - what a great bunch of folks. All good people, most with deep faith, their eyes open, and still having compassion for others. When people become aware, it can be challenging to keep that combination. It was a pleasure and an honor to be there, and worth the two day drive to get there. J

  11. As everyone has said, I also had a wonderful time! I enjoyed all the instructors and what they shared. The people attending were very friendly. There was so much learning just sitting around and talking in the mornings and evenings together. I didn't know anyone (besides hubby) before attending. I feel I left making friends that I hope to see again!
Thank you to all who helped make this a success!!
